This project consists in a series of illustrations inspired by the mural paintings of the Renaissance period. I also drew inspiration from Pre-Raphaelite paintings, as well as in Celtic lore and Greek myths. 
Besides these general influences, the first image was directly inspired by a passage from Walden, by Henry David Thoreau:

"I found myself suddenly neighbour to the birds. Not by having imprisoned one, but having caged myself near them.”

WORK PROCESS: 
I was responsible for the entire project, from concept, styling, photography, art direction, to post-production, photo-illustration 
and digital painting. This project was showcased in EGOÍSTA magazine, one of the best Portuguese print publications on art 
and culture.
