Lyrical Ink
- Lyrical Ink
Screenprints - The Lyrical Ink print series is inspired by song lyrics that have resonated with me throughout my life, for one reason or another. As words can mean such different things to each individual, I’m interested in playing with the ambiguity that can be found within the lyrics. For the first print, with its lyric taken from Talking Heads’ 1983 song 'This Must Be The Place', my idea was move away from the love aspect of the song. Instead, I used the lyric to express my indifference at finally buying my first ever house. Rather than feeling relief or elation, I felt immediately detached from the building. Ironically, David Byrne once admitted that although a love song, he tended to avoid the topic of love because it is "kinda big". My intention is to produce a limited edition screen print of each design.
