Trate is a village in Slovenia. For some years their Institute for mentall illness has been a home for many mentaly ill people, but it was abandoned about 10 years ago. The local people are now trying to renovate it and turn in into a museum, so we took the last chance of documenting how these patients lived. 

The photographs are meant to show how easily the world can forget about some people and some places, and what consequences that can lead to.
