Luminary Brewing is my brother's "brewery to be." Landon is currently home brewing in Atlanta. He is experimenting, developing recipes, and building equipment. After sharing his beer with friends and receiving rave reviews, he decided to submit the beer to competitions. He has now come to a point where developing a brand would help promote the product. The branding of his product will help advance his dream into a reality. He has asked me to be the designer for Luminary Brewing.
The name came about for a couple of reasons; "The Luminary" was the first newspaper published in Atlanta, Georgia and Landon is a lighting engineer. As a result, he decided a 19th century street lamp would be the identifying graphic. Visual cues from newspapers of the time influenced the identity. The challenge is referencing the 1800's time period while retaining a modern edge.
Below is the first logo iteration for the bottle cap. Next, the labeling for the first staple brew, "Forty Weight." This coffee stout is a favorite among the fans and is currently being perfected. Read Less
