Love Letters
This series of shadow boxes illustrates ten sets of love letters exchanged in secret by my great grandparents in India in 1898, from their first meeting to their engagement. The letters are concealed in drawers referencing Victorian writing desks and cabinets of curiosities, as well as the discretion mandated by nineteenth century rules of etiquette. The illustrations are composed of photos from my great grandparents' albums collaged with found textures and objects. Art Direction: Kelly Holohan
