Lost Nigeria: Photo Essays of My Mother's African Life

Lost Nigeria is a series of photo essays showing my mother's life in Africa.

All photos were taken on slide film by my mother and father, between 1960-1980. Where possible, I have attempted to provide captions, but in some cases that is impossible. These pictures were recently converted from film slides, meaning much of the context has been lost to history. These pictures are a vital personal history, and I hope you enjoy looking at them.
This project was featured on NPR.
