Logo Development for Center for Campus Involvement

Center for Campus Involvement Logo Project
Collaborative project among four designers at the University Unions Graphic Design Office
This project was all about working from the client's wishes to create a look and feel that they wanted to give out to students at the University of Michigan.  There were four designers that worked collaboratively on this project to give the clients a wide variety of options for their new logo.  I was the team leader on this project.  My role as team leader involved, creating layouts and formats for presentations, creating a series of questions to help the clients organize their feedback to be the most useful in design terms, and introducing the presentations to the clients.

The key points that I learned from this project were to work from the very beginning of a logo development, working with the client to understand exactly what look and feel they want the logo to convey, to the various iterations and presentations, all the way to the final design guidelines.  Another important learning experience was acting as a team leader and working collaboratively while at the same time making some executive decisions without stepping on anyones toes.
These are some of the beginning sketches on the left, moving forward to some of the final ideas that I presented to the clients.
These are some of the examples that we used so that the clients could see the various logos used in actual applications that they might produce in the future.
Even though none of my logo ideas were chosen I still continued to work on the final two options to make the final edits.
After the clients chose the final logo I did the work chosing the final color options and guidelines for application of the information and use of the logo.
