Lincoln Marathon “Lost, Lost, Lost, Won” poster

  • Lincoln Marathon

    "Lost, Lost, Lost, Won" Poster

  • 1. Assignment:
Create a poster for the annual Lincoln Marathon, a 26.2 mile race held in Lincoln, Nebraska.

    2. Your approach:
As in previous years, the concept needs to pay homage to the city’s namesake, Abraham Lincoln. This year’s poster chronicles some of Abraham Lincoln’s most profound failures/losses over the years, but then showcases his greatest and most memorable victory. Communicate by example that anything is possible if one persists.

    3. Results:
Race participants commented on the inspiring nature of the ad and were appreciative of the Lincoln Marathon organization for reminding runners that with persistence anything is possible. “Lost, Lost, Lost, Won” piqued interest throughout the community. Race participation was up 7% from the previous year and poster sales were up 12%.
