for Book "Like Water for Chocolate"

The brief was to design the cover of the book “Like Water for Chocolate”. Type was employed as part of the same image to convey the meaning of the title. This phrase is common in some Latin American countries, where hot chocolate is made not with milk but with water instead. Chocolate will only melt to create hot chocolate when it reaches boiling point. For this reason, the use of type as image alludes to describing a state of passion or anger. The image is a scene created with chocolate water dripping on a white tablecloth, combined with red petals, the same that were used by the main character
in one of her recipes.
