I've always loved making swelling ambient sounds with my guitars, but sometimes it's hard to make smooth volume changes. Light has always been an interesting subject for me, and I often associate sound timbres and textures with light brightnesses or colors.
I've built in a switch to this guitar that engages a new dynamic control, light. As more light hits the guitar, the signal from the guitar gets louder. Using the built in LED (powered by a 9v inside the guitar) the artist can control volume and create fluid swells by only moving their hand. Using a flashing LED it's easy to make quick and smooth tremelo effects as well.
