  • Libertad is a versatile sans-serif typeface inspired in both Humanist and Grotesk models. It was designed for editorial design, but it's balance and stability allows it to be used in signage.

It started in a virtual workshop we organized with César Puertas a long time ago with no clear objective, more than to learn about type. After a while I decided to put some more serious thinking and focus on it's objective, then it became more clear what it should be like and how it should act on paper and screen. After doing the first version I've made a printed comparison between Libertad and other known typefaces (such as: Milo, Auto, Akagi, Bree, Fedra, Fresco, Relato, Vista) to experience and handle it's color, and as I tried it, I saw it had an interesting personality and a lot of balance.
