Lezioni Elementari di Astronomia (Elementary Lessons in Astronomy) was published in 1817 by Giuseppe Piazzi (1746-1826), an Italian mathematician and astronomer who discovered Ceres, the first, and largest,
of the asteroids existing within the asteroid belt.
The book, prefaced with a dedication to King Ferdinando I, is a compendium of fundamental astronomical theories and principles presented along with charts and illustrations.
The restoration has been developed under the belief that both style and atmosphere of the orginal book
should have been preserved and enhanced, not haughtily re-designed.
