Back in the day, I was part of a gallery with a few friends. We had a screen printing set up going in the basement that a couple of the members had built from scratch. I loved designing, making separations and printing but was shit at it when I tired to do it in the "right" way. I was absolutely the worst at registration. But I actually ended up liking the mistakes I made. I loved the way one print would look one way, and another would have a whole different personality based solely on where the darkest layer fell.
Since I'm without a place to print right now, I decided to see what would happen when I ran paper through a printer as if I were screening it, putting the black layer on last. Here is just the very start of what I think is going to be a really fun series where I'll be trying to encourage mistakes as part of the aesthetic.
