For my Master's in Communication Design I decided to create type sculptures in some of London's abandoned spaces. The large type was constructed using materials found in situ and the chosen words reflect some aspect of the abandoned space. After construction, each piece was photographed using a large format, 5x4 camera. This body of work was exhibited at the Mall Gallery, London in 2006 and featured in Time Out Magazine, The A-Z of Ideas by John Ingledew (Laurence King Publishing), GO, STOP, SLOW, EAT: HOW TYPOGRAPHY INFLUENCES BEHAVIOR (Rockport Publishers) by Steven Heller and Mirko Ilic, Type Object (Ginko Press) by Barbara Brownie and FOUND TYPE (Thames & Hudson) by Steven Heller and Gail Anderson.
