This was a project for a course called visual and cad software, basically a 3d modelling course. We used Rhino 4 with V-ray to learn the basics of both. I did some research before modelling this land yacht, and designed it in accordance to basic sailing principals, however I did not have a chance to actually test if it would work.
Land yachts, also known as land sails and sand yachts, are vehicles moving across land that are powered by wind through the use of a sail.**
- 3 wheeled configuration, rear wheel steering
- runs up to 4 times the speed of the wind
- aerodynamically designed
- dimensions are 3900 mm long, 3050 mm wide, 3200 mm high, with a 700 mm wide cockpit
- made from fiber glass or moulded wood and carbon fiber reinforcements at critical structural points
Redesigned and refined the details of the yacht body, and rerendered it with keyshot.
