Zone 3 Milano
- Production Date: June 2011
Teammates: Cristina Ortali & Stefano Gemmiti
This was our final group project of the year in the Masters degree. Each group (6 in total) had to select one area of Milano, and create an infographic piece or pieces to improve the area.
My group decided to create a booklet, and a way finding system to be used in the area of Lambrate, a zone in Milan, Italy.
- TOTEMS & WAYFINDING
The way finding system would be made up of old Lambrettas (the internationally renown moped that is out of production) since it was born in Lambrate, where it got its name from. A total of five mopeds would be located around the area, and the users could interact with the moped while seeking the information they needed. The image below shows a mock-up of how the Lambretta totems would look.
The booklet compromised of three layers, Key Institutions, Art & Design, and Free Time. Each layer has its own section and map which contains highlighted locations that corresponded to the section topic. Within each section there sits a legend and a couple paragraphs about some of the main locations. The section ends with infographic charts that are related to the section topic.
Key Locations covers relevant hot-spots like historical sites and main public transportation stops.
Art & Design covers art galleries, design studios and street art spots.
Free Time covers bars, restaurants theatres and museums.
The final measurement of the booklet is:
297mm x 180mm – large pages
120mm x 180mm – small pages
