Lala & Papel is a paper and stationery company founded by Claudia Duncan in Middle Tennessee. Her goal is to provide quality, unique journals, notebooks and stationery at an affordable price while using sustainable means to create her products. All of Lala & Papel's products are made in the United States from 100% recycled products.
When we met Claudia, she was looking for a way to market her products to customers outside her reach in Middle Tennessee, so we developed an e-commerce Wordpress-based website which allows her to update her products for sale as they come available. After launching the site, Claudia now has 100% control of its content.
Since Lala & Papel is contracting work of several designers for assistance in creating products, Claudia felt the need to create a branding Style Guide to help her unify all and any marketing material she will be using in promoting her company. Her style guide (see image 2 for a sample page) is comprised of many sections highlighting the use of the logo, additional graphic elements used in her visual story, her primary colors for marketing, as well as key words to guide the designer to the mood she wishes to express about her company.
Finally, we needed to help Claudia market Lala & Papel while she's traveling about, meeting new vendors, customers, etc. For her business cards, it was important for us to truly demonstrate the beauty of Claudia's products: journals and jotters made from recycled products made affordable to the general consumer. For this reason, we used 100% recycled Truewhite Speckletone paper using only black ink to save cost. The front of the card utilizes her new Styles Guide to create a whimsical, personal feel, while the back is designed to imitate her lined notebooks (see image 3).
