Along a bumpy cobbled street tucked in behind a coastline is La Vineria de Colonia; a lovely little wine shop & tasting room on the shores of Uruguay. Part stone loft, part secret garden, and part boutique, la Vineria is one of those places you'd almost pass right by only to go inside on a whim and spend the rest of your afternoon drooling over Tannats. If I was a two-eared Van Gogh I likely would have sat here on a sweaty summer night and sketched the joint, half waiting for mandolins to start playing on the front step. It's picturesque, charming, and it has damn good wine.
