La Nube Spa

  • La Nube Spa
    All around three patios
  • The project is located in Barichara, a small town in eastern Colombia that was declared national cultural heritage in 1978. The 790m² site is within a protected area that requires using local ancient techniques (rammed earth walls, natural stone and spanish tile roofs) which were used to build the entire town and are well known by local artisans and constructors.
Rammed earth walls properties are suitable for the warm, sunny and dry climate of this town. These walls provide excellent thermal and acoustic isolation, keeping fresh interiors during the day, and making them warm during the night when temperature drops.
The earth used for the walls came from the very construction site, clay tiles and flooring are made in the town area and workers were also local.
The Spa La Nube project consists of three bodies which contain massage room, dressing room, pool, whirlpool bath, sauna, reception and services besides a vocational house with two bedrooms, kitchen and private patio. All these spaces are organized around patios and gardens that kept the existing eleven trees, taking advantage of the height differences to bring privacy to all areas and to enjoy the panoramic views to the town.
