This is the final result of a class (Graphic Design: Experimentation) in which we had to rebrand one of Montreal's major events (festivals and fairs). For my part, I chose to work with the Tour de l'Île de Montréal- For those who don't know, this is a long bike ride across the city, which is more family-oriented than competitive. That's pretty much how I saw it when I started working on this.
Let's start by saying the truth, the Tour de l'Ile is not really a tour of the island, y'know. That's the reason I changed the name of the event to something closer to the reality: Le Grand Tour de Montreal. For the rest, I tried to design a funny universe oriented towards families since that popular event relies heavily on its festive side. I think the handmade, crooked look, as in the logo, typography and illustrations succeed to convey the message.
