Since moving into my new studio in 2008, this was the first time for me to paint, having only done photography and teaching in my space. Admittedly, I was having the urge to return to this medium, but with trepidation on what would come from my hands and fingers. The paintings you see here are the result. No pre-meditated or conceptual idea. I just let it flow. Loosely called the LAVA series at this time. The rectangular pieces are approxiimately 90cm x 150cm, and the square format 100cm x 100cm.
