Korean tale night lamp.

light turned on

Done in concept class in fall 2012
The prompt was to incoporate pattern in to an object.
I chose to make a night- time lamp inspired from the asian tree pattern.
The lamp illustrates an old Korean story of a brother and a sister becoming a sun and moon; when you look at the lamp from the top, it's circle, representing sun and moon.
When the light is off, it is harder to see the images, and when the light turns on, the light allows us to see the images more clearly.
the tree pattern and the stars are all hand cut/carved
