Kiosk Screen for Welcome Center at NJIT

Kiosk Screen
AD201 - Ergonomics

NJIT was planning to redesign its Information Center and change it into more of a Welcome Center, ready to be opened in the Fall 2012 semester. The people in charge of the project contacted our instructor  and decided they would ask us to give them ideas of how to approach the project. For our final project, the class were split into groups that each contained at least one or two industrial designers, interior designs and digital designers/IT. We each came up with different ideas on how to change the space, make it intended for public use while having an inviting feeling and show how wonderful and diverse NJIT was. Working with industrial/interior design and IT students, here is what we intended for the touchscreen kiosk screen:

Idle: to show the time and date while cycling through different events, posters and student work that shows the activity and accomplishments of NJIT

Interactivity: the main screen would feature 4-5 pages in a circle, where the pages are able to rotate when the user swipes their finger to the left or right.

Animation: shows what happens when a page is selected and the interaction between the user and screen
