Kashmir is the northwest region of the Indian subcontinent and is widely known for its beauty. A land ravaged by terrorism, violence and war, the tourism there is slowly being revived in recent years. On landing in Kashmir, our guide assured us that we won’t get ‘bombed’; there was humor in his voice when he said this. Most of the population here is Muslim; most hindu pundits were either driven out or killed in terrorist attacks. May 2011
