Kaloxy Playsuit  Fashion for the Future
Kaloxy is a playsuit that is designed for the fashion of the future. The concept was inspired by the changing coloured forms of a kaleidoscope and the mystical aura of the galaxy. The pockets of the suit accentuated creating the distinctive shape of Kaloxy. In daylight the suit appears plain and the focus is on the silhouette, but as the darkness descends the LEDs become evident, transforming Kaloxy into a suit of the night.

The fundamental aspect of a kaleidoscope is the ever changing colours and forms it produces. To reveal this quality in the suit, a combination of mirrors and RGB LEDs are used to project patterns into the environment and the suit itself. The pockets are lined with mirrors so that the light emitting from LEDs are reflected beyond the pockets and into the environment. The colours of the LEDs are controlled by an accelerometer which is connected to the Arduino Lilypad. The accelerometer is located in the hip of the suit so when the body produces sharp movements, the lights change colour and reflects onto the plain exterior of the suit and environment. These peaks in movement imitate the shaking of a kaleidoscope triggering a random effervescent colour change.
