The goal of this project was to create a website for the restaurant Kinship Goods & Fare, translating the essence of the brand to the web medium in the most expressive, precise and exciting way possible. The client wanted the final product to be mild and sophisticated but rich in warmth and story.
After examining Kinship’s existing brand experience, it was decided that the solution for this project should communicate vibrancy, excitement, community, generosity, freshness, and diversity. My detailed process included a competitive audit, color and type studies, logo design, grid development and layout design. With a brand so focused on atmosphere and experience, an overwhelming amount of copy or decoration did not seem fitting. The solution allowed the food to speak for the brand’s essence through vibrant imagery and subtle detailing.
