After evaluating the previous newsletter designs from the past 6 years, I was better able to develop and construct a more appealing website that’s easier to navigate, easier to read on screens, and utilizes the power of social media plugins to promote interactivity between readers. Design techniques used in online newspapers and blogs were implemented into the newsletter for 2012. The department produces a weekly print newspaper, so the online newsletter’s modern look must pay homage to the printed newspaper to convey feelings of both old and new media.
