WIRES 10.0

Designer Jantine van Peski, who graduated with a masters degree this year from the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, (having previously studied at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute too) has also spent time gathering design experience at the fashion houses of Haider Ackermann and A.F. Vandevorst.Focusing on silhouette and craftsmanship, and paying great attention to materials and techniques,

WIRES 10.0 sees the designer construct pieces of clothing out of cord and yarn, straight from the body and using only one type of knot.

The collection - which is also Jantine's graduation collection - consists of twelve complex pieces, where the structure is sometimes completely knotted and sometimes with macramé integrated; seeks to find the daring symbiosis between labour intensive craft and minimalistic, pure design.

WIRES 10.0 will be presented during the Antwerp Fashion Shows and has also been selected for the finals of ITS#TEN in Trieste, Italy.

WIRES 10.0 opens at the Studio Job gallery on the 23rd of June and will remain on view until the 23rd of August 2011.
