Here it is, my logo! For a long time I wanted a logo for myself. As a designer, I think, you need to have a logo or some other design stuff that identify you as a designer. Just like a brand and brands are hot so why not?
It took me a while to make it. In first hand it looks pretty simple to design yourself, but you should try it. It is harder than you think and that is because you are the designer and client all together. You are the designer that loves great designs and you are the critic client. And that last fact makes you look very critic at the logo. You’ll think about what other people will think of it and how they respond.
So you want something special but not to special that no one likes it. But it had to be special in a way that people still recognize your brand when they see the logo or other items from your stationary(which is my next step). So designing your logo takes a lot of time, thinking and mostly sketching, which I didn’t really do. Not the paper sketching, that is because if I have some idea in my head, I really want to sketch it but I can’t. For me it is easier to create the sketch that I have in my head on the computer in Photoshop or Illustrator with the Wacom. So that is what I did, digital sketching.
Besides digital sketching and every time developing the logo further more, I asked the help from friends, who are all designers. They gave me feedback on the sketches and shot at me with questions like: Why triangles? There was also a comment like: “It’s to clean, to simple, not rough enough! You can do better” And I think I did. Thanks to those who helped me create my logo!
After all, I am happy with the end result and in this project you’ll see the digital sketches I produced to get to this end result. The logo is abstract but recognizable and besides that, for the people who know me or the brand, you can read the two characters in it, others mostly can’t.
