The messenger of heaven, Iris is the embodiment of communication in ancient Greek mythology. The IrisCenter was created to protect and foster communication for people with communication and hearing disabilities. The IrisCenter trademark combines and emphasizes the beauty and thoughtfulness in the caring soul. It is composed of four petals, each illustrating the sign language of letters I, R, I and S in America Sign Language (ASL). The hand illustrations connect to one another and form a circle, symbolizing the power of building community. The purple color, appearing throughout the brand, as well as the secondary pallets originates from iris flower.
As a token of appreciation given to those who consistently show their support to the Center’s efforts in the community, the Iris Center Packaging Project was created. The gift pack includes a series of small commemoratives that show their thanks as well as further educating the donor on the world of the communication impaired. Each gift set includes: a thank you letter in a postcard form in conjunction with a blank postcard set, a book illustrating various introductory signs form ASL, a personal photo album, an IrisCenter necklace, and a list of quotes on a set of cards with the ASL alphabet. The other side of the quotes tells a journal of a person whose life has been effected by a communication disability.
