Intern is an independent magazine showcasing the best unpaid and intern talent across the creative industries, whilst initiating a debate around the culture which surrounds the subject, and its effects.
She Was Only was approached by Editor-in-chief Alec Dudson to design and art direct the magazine and develop intern into a recognisable brand. Using a light touch, our design allowed the visual nature of the content do the talking. We created a stylish typographic hierarchy which allowed emphasis to put on the subjects of the publication and developed bespoke typeface, ‘Métier’ to accompany. Subtle stock changes courtesy of GF Smith allowed us to showcase the photography on the best medium.
Other aspects of this project included a website, screen printed tote bags, a digital iPad edition (coming soon) and the overseeing of launch events in London and Manchester.
