Inside the great pyramid is an interactive exhibit tour located in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. The experience is a mix of education and entertainment grasping the new minds of the television age immersing them in Interactive Installations.
BRIEF: Designing an Exhibition/Event/Experience by means of an immersive environment.
You are expected to deliver an exhibition/ event designed around a focus as directed by yourself. You will design the look and feel of the exhibition, the tickets and promotional materials, interactive Exhibits and launch event.
Above is a video of the prototyped interactive sand waterfall door. The dry sand falls from a small slit in the model and with the force of gravity it becomes a thin sheet. When the sand forms a thin sheet it can pick up a projection, screening a clear image. This model is scaled 1:4 the real size will fit into the museum exhibit entrance.
The Interactive Installation I created for the exhibit uses the museums second floor balcony enclosed as the dark environment. As you can see above the user walks around the balcony and is tracked by the xbox kinect to project a torch in the users hand as they venture around observing the hieroglyphic story.
