  • Digital Inking
    DC Comics
  • I started digitally inking back in 2000 mainly for Hasbro when the opportunity to work on the 10th Muse for Image Comics arrived. At the time the technique didn't exist and it took some doing to get Darren Davis and the folks at Image to believe it could be done to the same finnish as the established brush and ink norm. Only after I sent back the pages in their original pencil state were they sold on the notion and I proceeded to ink issues 1-4 and the cover of issue 5 digitally... with a mouse.

Then the Wacom tablet pen changed my life. When I started working with DC Comics I really dedicated some time pushing the possibilities and here you can see the results. BTW, my DC Editor didn't believe me either until...

I inked the cover and the first 4 pages of Flash: Fastest Man Alive, Message in a Bottle in 2006. It was used to promote the launch of the new Flash #1 in Previews for Diamond Distribution and then in the actual print run.
