Inès Tolentino is an artist from the Dominican Republic whose work, which ranges from painting and drawing to set design, has been widely recognized in Europe and the Americas. She studied in Paris, where she matriculated at the School of Fine Arts in 1980 and received advanced degrees in Plastic Arts and Science from the Sorbonne in 1982 and 1985. Her works have been shown widely in some 13 solo exhibitions and more than 45 group shows in the United States, including venues in New York, Miami, New Orleans and at the Smithsonian Institution and Art Museum of the Americas in Washington, D.C., as well as in France, Mexico, Japan, the Dominican Republic and Ecuador.
