    Urban Decay:: Detroit Edition
  • Nothing symbolizes Detroit's grandiose rise and spectacular fall like Michigan Central Station. To me, this is a gracious relic, a Beaux Arts triumph (designed by Warren & Wetmore and Reed and Stem firms who also designed New York City's Grand Central Terminal) turned gothic from neglect and the domination of the auto industry.  While perhaps the most iconic, this is in fact just one of the buidling/sites in the vast current inventory of abandoned ruins that needs to be addressed, further emphaizing the epic proportions of this situtation in Detroit.
