Briggs & Cole have always been fascinated by the embodied image with a three dimensional presence, however thin. This is due to their interest in the sculptural connection of product design and subtle layering of collage relief works. A continuation of this understanding and shared exploration can be found within place and shifting fluxes of cultural identity in which they live and work. These unique ‘industrial collage’ images depict highly personal visions of the surrounding landscape within the East End of Glasgow.
Briggs & Cole continue to question the representation of meaning through exploration of photographic/collage/print forms, as well as the design language of material form and surface decoration.
