Index of Conservation Compatibility

The Index of Conservation Compatibility (ICC) provides a snapshot of regional green infrastructure capacity, planning, and implementation for 283 communities in the Chicago Region. The ICC is made up of two seperate indexes.  The first looks at Institutional capacity and activity at the municipal level.  The second looks at Operational implementation at the municipal level. Rankings were based on 30 seperate indicators including: community comprehensive plans, zoning codes, community ordinances, park services, bike infrastructure, voting patterns, grant applications, open space protection and the existence of ordinances to manage storm water, tree canopies, native species, and water resources.
