The golden hues of autumn are an ideal backdrop for a walk in nature, and after strolling among hills, valleys, and lakes, you can finish your day by spending some time in a Swisscom shop. Inspired by the seasonal themes of yellow leaves, squirrels and the smell of roasted chestnuts, the largest Swiss telecommunications provider has decorated its more than 160 locations in autumnal colors, creating a natural extension of a hiking trail. In the store’s aesthetic fusion of wood, rock, and checkered tablecloths, you will also find a new tablet game called Autumn, designed and programmed by Entypo, a digital agency from Zurich.
Autumn is an in-store tablet game intended to break the monotony of waiting in line in a Swisscom shop. With its very simple concept and autumn color palette, this game is able to engage curious minds from all different age groups and levels of intellect. The game is designed to imitate a leisurely walk in nature, and requires the player to find and collect a certain number of forest animals, which you achieve by simply tapping on the touch screen. At the end of each level, the game will subtly suggest one of the company’s products that may be related to outdoor or seasonal activities. Alternatively, you can search for and chase the animals on the Internet at http://herbst.swisscom.ch
Players who are naturally competitive may try to beat the high score, and they can compete with other players all over the country on the high score board for the fastest time to find all twenty animals. A highly skilled player that manages to find all the animals will receive a CHF 20 voucher via email. Someone that wins this prize can immediately use it in the Swisscom online shop as a discount on any purchase. The challenge for the Entypo agency programming team was to embed a large amount of code in the database within a limited period of time. The designers faced the challenge of matching the illustrations and visual components with the complex and multi-layered requirements of the Swisscom corporation. The shapes and the colors of the visual elements are matched with the Corporate Design guidelines, as well as with the guidelines of Swisscom’s overall autumn campaign. Read Less
