Jim Hopper - Predator (1987)
"They did the samething to Jim Hopper..."
He was part of the first team sent into the jungles of South America by Dillon and the CIA. They went in looking for a downed chopper carrying a "cabinet minister and his aide" but what they found was the sharp end of the Predator's wrist blade. All that was left to identify Hopper was his Dog Tags. Although he was not in the physical condition of his superior (Dillon) or his comrade (Dutch), he was still a highly decorated, veteran officer in the Green Berets with over 100 successful missions.
Ivo Shandor - Ghostbusters (1984)
"The architect's name was Ivo Shandor. I found it in Tobin's Spirit Guide. He was also a doctor, performed a lot of unnecessary surgery. And then in 1920, he started a secret society..."
Architect, Doctor, complete loon. Head of a secret society of Gozer worshipers, Evo constructed a gateway to a parallel dimension in the guise of an apartment building on Central Park West. His goal was to allow Gozer the Gozerian, Volguus Zildrohar, access to our dimension to destroy the world. He was killed along with a large number of his constituents during a Gozerian ritual. They touched the etheric plane...and it touched back.
Domingo Montoya - The Princess Bride (1987)
"I swear on the soul of my father Domingo Montoya, you will reach the top alive."
Killed by The Six Fingered Man, Domingo was a loving father to his son and a skilled sword maker. His spirit forever guides Inigo to his destiny.
Nexus 6 Replicants - Blade Runner (1982)
"Three nights ago they tried to break into the Tyrell Corporation. Two of them got fried running through an electrical field. We lost the others."
Along with Roy Batty and his comrades, these two Nexus 6 Replicants were on a mission to meet their maker, literally. Breaking into The Tyrell Corporation isn't easy though...
Abner Ravenwood - Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
"Tanis development proceeding. Acquire headpiece, Staff of Ra, Abner Ravenwood, US."
Father of Marion Ravenwood and friend to Indiana Jones, he died at an unspecified time before the film began. He had discovered the Headpiece to the Staff of Ra and was being hunted by the Nazis. In the end he was murdered after he refused to reveal its secret location. A slight man and not an adventurer like Indiana, he enjoyed the quieter side of archaeology until he stumbled upon the Headpiece at a dig site in Egypt. He gave it to his daughter Marion before the Nazi's caught him.
