- Perito Moreno Glacier is 258 km² and 30 km long. Forehead of the glacier reaches about 70 feet above the waterline, and 140 – 170 meters under water. Perito Moreno is one of 48 glaciers fed by the Southern Patagonian Ice Field located in the Andes system shared with Chile. This icefield is the world’s third largest reserve of fresh water. Despite global warming, the Perito Moreno glacier grows in volume all the time.
