Ice Age Village is a tycoon based Freemium game using 3d model based sprites. With that in mind, you'll notice that the size and number of materials used are not the same as a model that would typically be used in game that is real-time.
The adult bear is ~5,000 polys, and the baby is about ~3,500 polys (both poly counts include the alpha cards.) I used the same 2048x2048 material for both the adult and baby bear. I decided to flatten the pelt instead of mirroring it because the back and neck are the most visable part in the game and I didn't want any seams or repetitious textures. To create texture on the model I used alpha cards of the fur texture.
