Serena Sundai's profile

IWDA (International Women's Development Agency)

International Women's Development Agency (IWDA) is the only Australian development organisation entirely focused on improving women's rights and gender equality and works across Asia and the Pacific to improve the lives of women through empowerment and education.

One of IWDA's biggest campaigns is Gifts of Change, a donation scheme where a 'gift' is purchased online or through a direct mail form, and then allocated to one of the many programs IWDA sponsor. After four years of the same creative, IWDA was seeking a revitalised communications strategy to increase awareness and donations. A new strategy was developed that not only highlighted the gift/donation but had an emotional connection with the purchaser. The result was the development of eight typographical style cards with playful phrasing that the purchaser received for their donation, to keep or give as a gift.

The Gifts of Change section on the existing IWDA website was also 're-skinned' in order to reflect the brand changes and make donating and purchasing simple and user friendly.

My role consisted of: Strategy • Copywriting • Layout and Design • Website Design

This project was a finalist in the 2013 Premier's Design Awards, Victoria.

Please visit www.iwda.org.au to support the important work they are doing.
