My unknown hero is my great uncle who served in the Special Air Services and was unrecognised for his bravery and courage. He doesn't consider himself a hero, nor takes credit for what he went through because he believes that 'the real heroes are dead'.

 

I created a story that told his tail. Capturing his emotion, his courage and this other world we could never imagine. The beauty of this book and concertina is that it forms a sentimental subject for others to get a hold of and to explore the true significance and heroism of an everyday man. It informs about the SAS and tells tales of the unexpected, all wrapped up in parcel paper, string and ready for the secrets to be revealed.
