Process shots of the cover of Vincent N. Perales’ horror novel, Nightmare Me.
The book involves a woman who sees distorted nightmarish realities, one which includes visions of a monstrous doppelgänger, or paranormal double, that eats her victims.
The original illustration (above) was painted with acrylics on textured A4 paper. The type was done with white acrylic on glass.
The painting was scanned before being coloured and chopped on Adobe Photoshop. The image above shows the glass/acrylic type treatment placed over the printed image.
The printed image and glass were then scanned. Blu-tack kept the glass and paper aligned correctly during the scanning.
The image above is the final cover, which prints at 6 by 9 inches.
