This body of work looks at the quiet break down taking place in traditional British and Irish suburbia as it struggles against economic decline.
A sense of austerity has arisen within once prosperous areas creating an uncomfortable marriage of former affluence and an unclear future.
In this work people of the region were photographed within contained spaces, immobilized and detached. Each image represents a moment of prolonged suspension, an ambiguous time with no clear resolve. Via this method of portraiture a visual representation of the often-concealed problems that affect the middle class is revealed. Read Less
