Hyatt Ad Campaigns, 2003-2004

Hyatt Ad Campaigns, 2003-2004
A series of ads created for the Hyatt in 2003. Unfortunately only low-res versions remain. There is a playful juxtaposition of elegance and humour I think.

These were fun ads - not typical for the Hyatt at the time. The "Naked Guy" ads ran as a duo, and were meant to be positioned on two right-hand consecutive pages.

The spa ads are an overdone cliché now, but they were the only spa that used the water drop image at the time. I thought it would be fun to play with it a bit. Sadly, this is the only sample I could find.

The costume worn by the woman in the first ad was from the performance of Madame Butterfly by the Manitoba Opera. One of the markets the Hyatt wanted to target at the time was the arts district. We had the costume flown in for the shoot. You can't quite see it in this image, but she is chowing down on a nice steak with onion rings and having a beer.
