Located on a steep site, the House 24 was designed to maximize the use of the plot not only in terms of areas, which were important to the family, but also in terms of access to all parts of it. Due to the inclination of the site, the house was organized in three levels, pushing the social areas down to the pool space and leaving the bedrooms and service areas on the ground level.
In order to take advantage of the great view that the plot has on the back, which faces the rest of the condominium with nature on the background, the volumes that compose this portion are totally open, although the west orientation receives all the noon heat. Bearing in mind this energy gain situation, the bedrooms and living room are covered and protected with wood sliding louvers, which also provides movement to façade. The swimming pool extends, through the wood deck, the plane of the house connecting this way the social areas with the outdoor spaces. One of the demands of the client was that all the underground area should be integrated with the kitchen and barbecue space. In this sense, as you approach the environment you can’t distinguished were the limits of it are, since the sliding doors open completely, providing interaction not only among the occupants but also with the patio.
The closed garage was a requirement. The task of connecting the house, vertically and horizontally was accomplished by the white volume which spreads along the site as a marker. The palette of colors is composed by white and dark grey, sober colors which emphasizes the potential of the geometry and the displaced planes on the roof. The project was developed with the Zoom+ Arquitetura team.
