These are some models from my work in San Diego, at Moon Mayoras Architecture.  I mostly built with museum board, watercolor paper, and foam core while I was there.  I especially had fun making the hospital bed that could be taken apart.
This model uses a combination of materials.  Precast concrete is in foam core, window mullions are in museum board.  This is intended to see the effect of the elevation of the new building with the lower existing building next to it, and to see the space in between the buildings.
This hospital room model shows how the space inside the hospital room will be arranged, and examines how the docking area for the hospital bed will work with gas connections accessible at the side.  The sliding door was also being explored here as a safety feature.  This model has a removable ceiling held up by the strip of museum board that goes all the way around the top of the room at the intended height of the ceiling.  The room is viewable from the entry doorway and the exterior window when the ceiling is in place.
This hospital bed is made of foam core and museum board, and incredibly fun to make.  I hoped it would add some believability and scale to the room where it was placed.
