My day job is spent out of Indy Hall in Philadelphia. There is always something cool and different happening there. This particular shoot was for a company called What Say Co. that appeared out of thin air a couple of weeks ago. They just launched a number of t-shirts based on a certain internet phenomena - called Horse_ebooks.
The plan was simple. Get some of our very attractive female friends to don these new t-shirts, hop in front of the camera and e-commerce magic will ensue.
Needless to say it was a lot tougher than I imagined. We ended up doing 2 different lighting/backdrop set ups. It took a while to get the lighting right in the first place. The talent were really shy and nervous and I didn't have a clue how to change that other than by jumping in front of the camera myself and looking goofy. We switched cameras from D3 to X100 3/4 of the way thru due to batteries.
But the end result was something great and everyone had a good time. A real collaborative effort with a number of folks involved including Alyson Martorana who helped us out immensely with both hair & makeup and suggestions on posing / looks for the models.
Stay tuned for the next project - which will hopefully involve a ripped dude, small t-shirt, briefs and a horse head......
