    Turning Britain's biggest basketball website into a brand
  • I was approached by Sam Neter to redesign the logo for, a one-of-a-kind basketball website that garners over 20,000 visitors a month and has been featured by Slam, Sports Illustrated, Wall Street Journal, and ESPN, among others. Sam said he had "huge aspirations for the site" and that he wanted it to become "one of the biggest and most well known basketball brands on the planet." 

    The old logo was holding the brand back mainly in three aspects: its complexity (illustration), colors (Union Jack), and message (exclusively British). The new logo kept the site's British heritage (the petals around the ball represent the Tudor Rose, England's national flower) without being overly obvious, and the subtle "H" hidden in the middle of the basketball gave another reference to the brand.
